CHAMPION FOR MADRID

El Clásico or known as the classic in English is the traditional match between Real Madrid and Barcelona. These two clubs are the giants of footballing world and they have always clashed with each other for glory. It is great rivalry between these two clubs, which attracts so much attention.
In recent past Barcelona has emerged as a team to be followed. It has set high standard of football and other teams are trying to follow the step. Only Arsenal can say with some confidence that it can provide second best football after Barcelona.
Traditionally it was Barcelona, which used to chase Real Madrid but now the situation has changed. Previous decade has seen Barcelona as shooting way ahead of Real Madrid. This stark gap has forced Real Madrid to spend money. They have spent over 160 Millions Euros on different players and coach to get the glory days back. It was thought by owners of Real Madrid that money would solve their problems and great start to the season under new coach José Mourinho, known as the Special One, had further boosted this perception.
El Clásico 2010 was eagerly awaited. Real Madrid were a point ahead of Barcelona. Real had remained unbeaten from the start of the season. World most expensive player, Ronaldo, was in great form. The Special One was having a dream start. Real fans were not believing that Mourinho could so easily transform their favorite club to a wining machine. But this dream was shattered and shattered badly.
El Clásico 2010, displayed that money is not the only thing for victory. Big names with expensive tags failed to stop the free-flowing Barcelona. It looked as if professionals were playing and mocking with armatures. It was match of two sides, matched on paper but not on field. The night belonged to Barcelona. They have humiliated Real by beating them comprehensively.
Barcelona played football of high quality. They have displayed that dedication, commitment and hard work are the ingredients for victory. The football they displayed makes football ridiculously simple but what they do is undoubtedly very hard.
Real Madrid should learn the lesson from Barcelona, which has been taught in very harsh manner. They should concentrate on their weakness and play as team in order to make themselves worthy rivals of Barcelona. Only this will save Madrid from Misery not Money or Mourinho.

Super Ramos

Ahhhh, after a whole month, the world cup has ended. Started on Friday June 11th and ended on Sunday July 11th. It is a very interesting competition, with lots of twists and tales, and discussions and a lot of things not even remotely connected to football. But in the end, we saw some great moves and players, and be happy we did, because of all the black presumptions before the start of the FIFA World Cup 2010, this turned out to be a great tournament, with lots of excellent things, but unfortunately a lot of downs as well. But, lets look at this particular game, the last game, the final, between Spain and Netherlands.
Spain became the world champion, after 120 minutes of play, in which we saw a goalless match in the first 90 minutes, and then a superb action in the 116. minute and goal by Andres Iniesta. It was a good game, with not so many chances, but a nervous one as well, at least from the Dutch side. By winning, Spain's name was written in football history for many reasons. Firstly, it was their first ever World Cup final (hard to imagine? ), and thus, of course, their first ever World Cup title. They are therefore, the third country, after Deutschland and France to combine the World cup title and the European Champion title from two years age at Austria and Switzerland. This is also the first time a European nation won a World cup title while the host nation was outside of Europe. And, so that it is not all about Spain, this was a third final for the dutch, after 1974 and 1978, and their third loss, and they still remain without a World Cup title.
Spain played a better game, no one can deny that. It was clear from the start they had a bigger desire to play attacking football and score a goal, unlike the Dutch who looked more concentrated on stopping Spain than scoring goals themselves. This can be seen by the two chances Sergio Ramos had, and one of David Villa, both give closely wide from the goal. On the other hand, Netherlands were lucky to have all their players on the field in the first half due to all the brutal fouls on Spain players, the most dangerous one being that one of Nigel de Jong on Xavi Alonso, with a high kick to his chest. He got off with a yellow, although it could have easily been a red card. In the second half the same story, although the Dutch, mainly Robben, had a very good counter attack, when his one-on-one attempt was saved by Casillas. Two more chances for Spain, David Villas attempt saved by a defender after Navases cross, and Sergio Ramos header going over the goal from a corner kick when he was alone, and it was extra time. A 100% chance for Fabregas saved by Stekelenburg in the 95. minute, and Mathijsen shooting over the empty goal were the chances, but two elements were crucial. The second yellow card for Heitinga for pulling Iniesta, well deserved red card, some would say finally, and a goal in the 116. minute. The Dutch wanted to secure penalties and hoped to win it like that, but Spain made a brilliant action and got their deserved goal. And thus they became the eight nation to win a World Cup.
And after the game? Some Dutch players blaming the referee for losing, saying that they had too many yellow cards than they deserved. If anything, they had to have more red cards. They really did play hard physical football, no one can deny that, not even Dutch fans, and they could have easily gotten more reds. The Netherland coach, Van Marwijk, said:"I don't think the referee controlled the match well. But let me be clear about this: the best team won the match." And he is right, on both cases. Spain were a better team, with a far bigger desire to play good football. But it is also true Howard Webb, usually known as a good referee, did not have everything under control. He could have, and maybe even should have, shown a red card much sooner, but it was clear he did not want to do that, probably not to 'kill' the game. Thus, he did not take control, and the players used that, on both sides, and they could have all finished the game with less then 11 players on the field. But, it is sad therefore to listen and read the next day, after a good game in the final of the World Cup, mostly about the referee and his mistakes and good decisions, then about the game itself and the winners of the  in South Africa.

Kaka Is Real Madrid

Born in April of 1982, Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is currently known to his many adoring fans as Kaka. The Brazilian native plays midfielder for the Los Ligas club, Real Madrid and also enjoys the privilege of playing the same position for the Brazilian National Team. Always a crowd favorite, Kaka gives credit for his unusual nickname to his little brother who, as a small child, had problem's pronouncing his name. Add this to the fact that, in his native land, the nickname is often a short form of Ricardo, and you can see why the handle stuck.
A natural athlete, Kaka began playing football at the tender age of only eight years old. He also, apparently, was a pretty decent tennis player at that age. It took him seven more years to finally decide to focus on football as his chosen sport and he never looked back. He started with Sao Paulo FC and then moved across the Atlantic to play with AC Milan, a trip that cost the Milan club around €8.5 million. AC Milan, it seems, made a good investment, since Kaka won both the Ballon d'Or and the FIFA Player of the Year while part of their organization in 2007.
Then, in 2009, Real Madrid acquired the midfielder from Milan for a six year-deal that had a reputed price tag in excess of â,¤68 million. Since joining the Real Madrid squad, Kaka has been a steady if unremarkable player and there has been some grumbling about whether or not he is worth the hefty sum it cost the team to obtain his services. While it might be true that, statistically, Kaka has yet to make his mark, it is certainly not because he is lacking in either talent or ability. After all, Real Madrid has long held a reputation for attracting (and paying well for) the best players in the world.
A perennial player for Team Brazil, Kaka began his International career in the 2001 FIFA World Youth Championships. He also played in the 2002 FIFA World Cup Squad, but only for a short period of time. He started his first World Cup in 2006 and scored his first (and only) goal in the team's 1 to nothing victory over Croatia. He was named Man of the Match for his play in that meeting even though the Brazilian team went on to lose to Team France.

Glory For Madrid

The Madrid club, who are so hungry for glory actually made a profit of $525 million (£350 million, €385 million) for the 2008/09 season. However that was before they paid out no less than $475 million (€350 million, £318 million) on the cream of players from all over Europe to make a squad that would try and take some of the glory from their arch rivals Barcelona.
Barcelona had a great season last year, winning every competition that they took part in; including La Liga and the Champions League, leaving Real's trophy room completely bare. In third place was Manchester United who lost out in the Champions League final to Barcelona, but gained a healthy £55 million profit when they sold superstar Christiano Ronaldo. Christiano has now donned the famous all white of Real Madrid, one of the most well known soccer uniforms on the global stage. Filling his boots as the king pin of Manchester United these days is Wayne Rooney, who looks like he might be knocking both Christiano and Lionel Messi of their perch to become the World's top footballer.
Manchester's season seems to be moving into top gear just at the right time, and last Sunday's Carling Cup final win as again a fine display of not so silky football, played with a lot of grit. The icing on the cake was Wayne Rooney coming off the bench to score the winning goal with a header. While statistics are not readily available, soccer pundits are saying that Wayne has scored more goals with his head in the last month than in all the rest of his career put together.
While there are happy times on the field for Man-U these days, they certainly don't have their problems to seek off it. And it all comes down to money. The problems began in 2005, when the club was taken over by US billionaire Malcolm Glazer who had made his fortune running American football teams. Glazer paid out around $1.2 billion ( £800 million) for the club, which was largely financed by borrowing, meaning that huge amounts of interest has being paid out every year since then. According to the most recent accounts released in January, United's debt burdens have increased to around one billion dollars (£716.5 million) with close to $100 million (£68.5 million) paid out in interest during 2009 alone.
The fans say that these huge interest payments has begun to sap the club's ability to buy the top players that will keep them at the forefront, both at home as well as in Europe. Signs of the fan's dissatisfaction at the Glazer's running or the club have become increasingly apparent with many fans giving up wearing their favourite red soccer uniforms. Instead they have begun to wave green and gold scarves and banners, which were the colours of Newton Heath. Newton Heath was a simple football club who changed their name to Manchester United more than a century ago. United's fans are calling out for a return to the days where soccer was more a sport and less of a business. Let's hope they succeed!

Soccer From Madrid

Real Madrid won 97 points in the Primera league last year. That is the all-time record for them. However, they finished on the second place because Barcelona won 99. Although their former coach Pellegrini did a great job in forming the new team after so many star players arrived, he got fired in the end because he couldn't get the title.
Real Madrid's president Florentino Perez turned to Jose Mourinho, who is labeled by many as the best coach in the world. He brought him from Inter and installed him in the hot seat. He is expected to bring back the glory that Madrid had a few years ago. Although many new players arrived to the club at the start of the previous season, Mourinho had to make a few signings of his own. He sold some players, and brought in two new midfield players who played excellently in the World Cup. Both of them are Germans, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil. The former is a defensive midfielder who knows how to play in the attack too, and the latter is a creative force. Although Real has the creative strength in Kaka, he is injured most of the time, so having a backup is not a bad choice at all.
The season started and both players settled in very nicely. Sami Khedira played all matches since the start of the season, while Ozil appeared in 70% of the games. Madrid isn't playing that spectacular, but these two players make a difference indeed.

Madrid Is Madrid

It's the question everyone is asking not only in Portugal but throughout the world by football fans, now that CR7 and his teammates were sent packing after their defeat at the hands of Iberian rivals Spain in the round of 16 match on Tuesday in Cape Town.
With so much hype surrounding this dream Iberian derby, which featured FIFA's second- and third-ranked sides in the world, Portugal ended their adventure without any bang as Carlos Queiroz and his squad were clearly beaten by a superior Spanish squad.
Spain won the game 1-0 with a goal by the inevitable David Villa at 63 minutes, which after some careful observation is clearly off-side, though not by much. Towards the end of the game, Portugal's right back Ricardo Costa was unjustly red carded for apparently elbowing a Spanish defender.
Cristiano Ronaldo the Portugal captain and the world's highest-paid footballer had probably his worst game ever. He appeared slow and tardier than most of his colleagues, failing miserably to get through Spain's defense or even warm up his game on a chilly Cape winter's night.
Ronaldo, who has lately been criticized for not being a good Portugal captain, drifted with indifference and frustration through most of the game, even if it can be rightly pointed out that that he got no help from a sluggish Portugal midfield with a serious lack of passing ability and creativity, which sorely misses players of the caliber of Luís Figo, Rui Costa and Deco when he was in form.
CR7 who mesmerized Manchester United and most recently Real Madrid with his magnificent skills, making him one of the most exciting players in the world of football, slipped back into his annoying habit of shooting from all angles and long distances at every opportunity instead of trying to link with his team-mates up front.
The only time we were able to see the true Cristiano was when he unleashed a typical powerful 30 meter free kick that caused some trouble for Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas in the first half. Apart from that he only touched the ball on 11 occasions in the second half.
South Africa has a large Portuguese community of about half a million, so the "Selecção das Quinas" had lots of support from tens of thousands of Portuguese fans in a full Cape Town Stadium. Even the non-Portuguese fans that came specifically so see their idol Cristiano Ronaldo, left the stadium highly disappointed with the performance of a player that was transferred for a staggering $132 million last summer when Spanish club Real Madrid acquired him from Manchester United.
Portuguese and foreign newspapers like the LA Times were very critical of Ronaldo's performance against Spain saying that he strolled through the 90 minutes, probably didn't need a shower, and couldn't possibly have raised a sweat, given his invisibility and lack of effort.
Even the encounter of the Portuguese star with Nelson Mandela last week was not forgotten by the Los Angeles newspaper, saying that even the 91 year old Nelson Mandela would have moved more than Ronaldo who is 25, did.
More than likely Carlos Queiroz, who is extremely unpopular in Portugal, will be fired, since his tenure as coach was hardly successful. Cristiano Ronaldo is not the indicated player to be captain of the Portugal squad as he did nothing to lift his nation's game and keep fighting to the end in the old-fashioned way.
C Ronaldo was also the only player not to sing the National Anthem of Portugal. As captain of the team, this action made him look very unpatriotic to his country and to the thousands of Portuguese fans inside the stadium and all over the world, who had so many expectations of him and of Portugal.

Ronaldo Is Back

Want hair like the famous soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo? Well, asking how to get Cristiano Ronaldo hair is simple enough, but the trick is in the doing. After all, the world-famous 23 year-old footballer (soccer is called football in the rest of the world outside of the United States) is known for having some really fantastic hairstyles. Why wouldn't a guy want to try to emulate some of that style?
It all starts with making sure the hair is thoroughly washed, first of all. Nothing stands up against a good styling effort quite like dirty hair does. After the wash, take a clean towel and dry the hair as much as possible. Don't use a hairdryer, because completely dry (and possibly burned) hair isn't as susceptible to a good styling session as are dampish locks.
After the washing and drying chores are done, it's time to take out a high-quality men's hair styling spray and lightly spritz the tresses. Don't use a product that's not water soluble and easily washed away. Sticky, clumpy hair prevents proper application of hair gel, which is the next step.
Keep in mind not to go wildly cheap when it comes to sprays or gels, by the way. So, take the gel and lightly -- but completely - cover every part of the hair. Start from the front and work the gel around to the back and down to the nape of the neck.
Once the hair's been properly treated, it's then time to pick out the right style from the book the stylist will have. Most of the currently popular Cristiano Ronaldo hair fashions currently center on locks that begin with a slightly swept-back look and then stand up a in a spiky kind of manner in the mid-scalp region. If the process is carried out properly, there's no end to the type of Ronaldo hair that can be produced!

Super Player Higuain

The 31 time champion of La Liga, Real Madrid, won in an incredible way against Malaga in day 10 of the season, with a magical score of 4-3. The "Merengues" as they are also known, played with 10 players during the entire second half since Sergio Ramos was dismissed with a red card at minute 44.
This was Real Madrid fifth red card of the season; even though, this is something that hasn't affected the team so far because they have won five games in similar situations. Moreover, in the games where the "Merengues" have been with 10 or 9 players, the team has managed to score in eight different occasions and had obtained the victory consistently.
During last Saturday's game, things were equally managed by the two teams. Nevertheless, at minute 6 Eliseu opened the score for Malaga. But just a couple of minutes later the hero of Real Madrid Gonzalo Higuaín, scored for the "Whites". Shortly after, during minute 18' a great play from Baha put the match 2-1 in favor of Malaga and just finalizing the first half of the game a cut out of Welington of Higuaín's pass touched his arm, Hinguaíns then scored with a penalty to tie the game 2-2 before the halftime.
On the second half, things seemed scary for Real Madrid, due to the fact that they were playing with 10 players after the red card of Ramos. Malaga then made the most of it and with an error of Gago kicking Duda's foot in the area, Malaga scored their third goal in a penalty. However, Higuaín came once again to the rescue just one minute later and scored for the "Merengues" once more equalizing the game for third time.
Finally at just twelve minutes to go, Iturralde awarded a third penalty after Higuaín fell. Higuaín then kick the penalty that Arnau saved; however, Malaga's rejection play didn't work and Higuaín took advantage of it placing his fourth goal anyway and at the end, the final score went in favor of Real Madrid 4 goals to 3.
As every fan watched the game could see, this match was a battling one for Real Madrid from the beginning through the end. And despite of being behind three times, the "Merengues" never gave up and maintained their fighting spirit to obtain the victory. The contributions of the four goals of Gonzalo Higuaín were essential, and his performance was exquisite, without a doubt. Coach Schuster was really pleased with Higuaín and his entire players' attitude toward adversity.
"It is great mentally for the team to win games such as this, although of course I would prefer easier victories. Also it clear the Higuaín played his role very well, just like he did in previous games. He is taking advantage of his pace and touch. I am happy with his performance," expressed the manager of Real Madrid Bernd Schuster.
Currently Real Madrid is in fourth position of La Liga behind Valencia, with 23 points and 16 goals against. The next match of the "Merengues" will be vs. Real Unión on November 11th at the Copa del Rey. While in the Spanish League, Real Madrid will face Valladolid on November 16th at the Stadium of José Zorrilla in Valladolid. We hope the best for Real Madrid this week and we look forward to see some of his injured players coming back for next matches.

Super Player

Football is full of professional rivalries - Liverpool Vs Everton, Manchester United Vs Man. City, Arsenal Vs Tottenham, however none of them are arguably as explosive as games between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Whenever the two teams meet, the match even has its own name - El Clasico - and is billed as one of the most exciting matches to watch in the world.
Like many professional rivalries in sport, the Barcelona/Real Madrid animosity stems from a general competition between the two cities. During the Civil War, Madrid was an ally of General Franco, where as Barcelona was more tied to its Catalan roots and resented Franco's attempted control. They had their reasons - Franco was determined to unify the country and therefore quash Barcelona's traditions and independence, including trying to wipe out its local language - Castilian Spanish.
During the Civil War, Barcelona was even told to deliberately lose a game against Madrid on Franco's orders. They took this to the extreme and lost 11-1. Officials were so incensed, that the Barcelona team was fined and suspended. This started the beginning of the rivalry and saw Real Madrid seize the lead, wining five European Cup titles.
Real Madrid became the most respected and well known team on the planet until 1961 when Barcelona fought back with a vengeance, knocking Madrid out of the European Cup tournament. This took the rivalry to a whole new level.
Barcelona also refuse certain commercial aspects that other teams utilise, such as sponsorship and other 'money-grabbing' schemes. The fact that Real Madrid do so, is also seen as sticking it to the opposition, who Barcelona see as selling out, as opposed to them being a 'sporting club' in it for the glory.
Today, when players move between the teams, the newspapers make an event of it. In 2000, Luis Figo moved from Barcelona to Real Madrid for a record transfer fee, but as a result incurred the wrath of fans who let their displeasure be known by throwing rubbish (and even a pig's head at him) during matches.
While the rivalry is a symbiotic relationship, with both teams needing each other to make the headlines and drawing the crowds, the rivalry is as strong as even. Both teams are members of the G14 group - a collective of the 14 most powerful football teams on the planet, and whenever the two teams meet for a match, it is always a sell out event with millions of others tuning in to watch the clash.

They are not only the most successful club in the world but also the richest in the world according to the latest survey done by the money league which publish their research results annually. Yes, its true that Real Madrid are the richest club by income for the season 2006-2007 probably for the season 2007-2008 too but the results are not completed yet.
So what makes Real Madrid not only the richest club in the world but more significantly, the most successful as well.Well the statistics don't lie and more often then not speak for themselves. For any club to be successful, only two titles could and should be given credit, The league and the Champions League, the rest are mere formalities as you all know (it does not take much to beat Sao Paulo in a cup final) so I am going to ignore the minor trophies here, lets have a look at most of the major football clubs track records against the Madrid Galacticos.

Manchester United have won only two Champions league trophy, one was way back when it was known as the European cup and the other in 1999,they have 16 league titles.
* Barcelona have also won two champions league trophies and 18 league titles
* Liverpool have won the competition FIVE times and they have 18 league titles
* Inter Milan have 2 champions league titles and 15 league titles
* Ac milan have 7 champions league titles and 17 league titles
There are some other major clubs as well but they have just started to grow so lets just ignore them for a moment.
Finally, Real Madrid has won 9 champions league titles and 30 league titles. Now I have listed all the great clubs of Europe above, not even a single club can match or come close to the records set by the Spanish powerhouse. Thus proving what I stated earlier that real Madrid is the undisputed champion of champions.
Real Madrid is the only team that holds the Cup in property, having won the title five consecutive times.

Real Madrid coach José Mourinho wants the press to say the idea loud and clear: there will be no new players in the next months, unless something really unusual happens to his current squad.

"This is my squad for the rest of the season, I trust in this players. Madrid has already made the investment that we needed so that's it. Our squad may be not perfect, but there are no perfect squads anywhere" Mourinho said.

He also expressed that it's too early to talk about sign ups for January. According to him, the General Director of the club and the President will say the same thing if asked.

With this statement, Mourinho wants to end with rumours that assure Real Madrid is after players like Wayne Rooney and Gareth Bale

Higuain netted the opener but Filippo Inzaghi scored twice to drive all italian fans crazy. When they were already celebrating the victory, Pedro Leon scored the equalizer in the last seconds of the match.

This exciting encounter took place at the historical stadium of San Siro in Milan. And coach Allegri was aware that he needed his best footballers to show what they can do. Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic and Pirlo were playing well, with precision and discipline.

But Real Madrid never gave up and the final result was the prize for their efforts. Now the spanish team secured a place in the round of 16 of the 2010/2011 Champions League.

Real Madrid players seem to be unstoppable this season. . Their last victim was the weak Hercules from Alicante. Mourinho's team beat them with goals by Ángel di María and Cristiano Ronaldo, who netted a double. The game finished 3-1.

However, the match would not be easy, especially in the first minutes. Hercules surprised everybody when French striker David Trezeguet scored the opener after a long pass by David Cortés.

But Madrid proved that they are almost unbeatable this season. First, keeper Calatayud could not stop a shoot by Ronaldo and Argentinian Di Maria was fast enough to score the equalizer.

After another collective move, Ronaldo scored the second for Madrid. The Portuguese star would score the last one as well, after a nice pass by Benzema.
